All the details about Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 have been officially revealed by developer HoYoverse, including its release date, new characters, banner structure, and much more. Version 3.5 is the next big patch for the popular turn-based RPG. The update will add more Amphoreus-related story content and add new playable units, including a character who will revolutionize DoTs in Honkai: Star Rail.
The patch won’t be as big as Version 3.3 and 3.4 when it comes to content, especially because the two previous patches had special events. In Version 3.3, players had access to special anniversary celebrations, which came with several rewards. In Version 3.4, however, players gained access to the Fate collab event, which not only featured a special event but also added Archer and Saber to Honkai: Star Rail.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 – Release Date
The Update Shouldn’t Be Delayed

Now, the game is getting ready to step away from Version 3.4 in a few days, as HoYoverse hosted the Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 livestream. The special event was broadcast live on the official Honkai: Star Rail channel on YouTube. During the presentation, the company confirmed that Version 3.5 will be released on August 13.
Essentially, this confirms that the update is on schedule and that it hasn’t suffered any internal delays. With the official release date for the update having been revealed, it’s unlikely that the patch will be delayed. Usually, when there is a delay, HoYoverse tends to postpone the date when the livestream happens, too.

Hysilens & Cerydra Debut In The Update

HoYoverse had already teased the two new characters who will make their debuts as playable units in Version 3.5. One of them is Hysilens, a new 5-star Physical character on the Path of the Nihility. This Amphoreus’ character’s main specialty will be triggering DoT effects while also applying them.
Even though she is a Physical character, Hysilens won’t be restricted to Bleed, and instead will be able to apply other types of DoTs, like Wind Sheer, Burn, and Shock.
Overall, Hysilens will be a valuable DoT character that should improve the effects of other characters like Kafka and Black Swan, too. This is because the new character can deal an extra instance of DoT whenever an enemy is affected by DoT effects applied by other allies. DoT has been underused over the past year, but it could make a comeback.
Combined with Kafka’s buffs in Honkai: Star Rail, Hysilens release could make DoTs match the power of other mechanics.
The other new unit in Version 3.5 is Cerydra, a 5-star Wind character following the Path of the Harmony. As such, the Amphoreus character will be a support unit for the team comp. Cerydra’s main specialty is choosing a specific ally and increasing their Skill’s CRIT DMG. Cerydra will work particularly well with DPS characters whose Skills are their main source of damage, such as Jingliu.
The livestream also confirmed the previous leaks about the Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 character banners. As seen in the special event, Hysilens will make her debut in the Phase 1 banners alongside a Kafka rerun, while Phase 2 banners will feature Cerydra’s debut with a Silver Wolf rerun.
Asta, Arlan, and Hook will have improved drop rates in Phase 1, while Sampo, Qingque, and Dan Heng will have improved drop rates in Phase 2.
This particular banner structure makes sense. Both Kafka and Silver Wolf received buffs in Version 3.4, but neither one of them appeared with increased drop rates during the patch. Not only does it make sense for them to be highlighted after their buffs, but Kafka, specifically, will likely be one of the best units in Hysilens’ team comps, so featuring them together seems accurate.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 – Story Updates, Events, & More
You Can Get A Free 4-Star Light Cone

As was teased by HoYoverse, the Amphoreus story arc will continue to progress, as the Trailblazer will make new allies to push forward. The protagonist will connect themselves with a character who resembles Cyrene, as well as the long-rumored Dark March and an alternative form for Dan Heng – all of which are rumored to be the indispensable Honkai: Star Rail 3.6 characters.
These new characters will likely have a pivotal role in the story, as the Trailblazer and his allies now know who their enemy is. The update will also feature a new boss fight against Lygus, who was originally presented as an honorary member of the Council of Elders. However, his true involvement in Amphoreus’ path has now been revealed.
In addition to the new story content, HoYoverse also presented the limited-time events that will help fill out the content in Version 3.5. During the update, you will be able to acquire several rewards, including Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, a free exclusive 4-star Light Cone, and more in several activities, like the Chrysos Maze Grand Restaurant event and the Old Brews & New Friends event.
While it won’t be as massive as the two previous patches, Version 3.5 will still be a very important update, especially when it comes to the main story’s development. Of course, the two new characters will also unlock new team comp possibilities. Now, it’s only a matter of time before Version 3.5 arrives, so be sure to complete everything you can in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 before it ends.
